This 1921 home was designed by Hermann Krause for Adrian and Sophie Klein. While Krause was a fan of the Italian Rennaissance Revival, the style execution here stopped short leaving out key elements. But the home is largely intact and in good condition. Krause and Klein collaborated making parade floats for the "Fiesta De Las Rosas" in the garage of this house. Adrian Klein was a colorful character involved in a variety of things during his lifetime. He was an automobile fan and owned parts and service stores for a while. Descendants of the Klein family indicate that Adrian was a bootlegger. Sophie owned the Bon-Ton Millinery.

In this last personal home by venerated local architect, Frank D. Wolfe, conservative Dutch Colonial design hides its forward-thinking attributes: concrete walls on the first floor halt termites and moisture coming from the ground while in-floor radiant heating provides comfort. (Credit for residential radiant heat in floors given to F. Lloyd Wright in later year but Wolfe's design came earlier - 1920.)

The original facade is intact except for missing window shutters. The cylinders supporting the carport will be replaced with pillars matching the original at the side arched entrance.

This home was built in 1920 by Edgar A. Bevens, the father-in-law of L.D. Bohnett, local lawman and prominent figure in area politics. Bevens built several homes in the area emphasizing the horizontal "Prairie" influences promoted by Frank Lloyd Wright. The home's facade is largely intact save, perhaps, the mason porch wall and piers. William L. Jacke, a well connected San Jose real estate man and inventor made this his family's home for most of its early years. Jacke used to tinker in his garage and was responsible for a Philco patent on an automatic radio tuner.
